Normal” for opposition
to plot govt’s downfall...
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has defended his prediction that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government will collapse soon. Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby today, Hadi said it is normal for there to be a change in government.
He claimed there were signs of dissatisfaction among various quarters of the governing coalition and said, therefore, it is not impossible for the government to fall.
“That (predicting Anwar’s downfall) is a political statement. And usually in politics (there are) votes of no confidence, obtaining SDs (statutory declarations). Supporters of the government would turn away,” he said.
The Marang MP said this when asked to explain his recent statement predicting the collapse of Anwar’s administration in the near future. He was also asked to confirm whether there are efforts being made by Perikatan Nasional to topple the current federal government.
“(This is allowed) and it happens in a democratic country. “We do not just try (to bring down the government) through the general elections but also through Parliament. “We have the right to plan, no one can stop us. We want to plan,” he stressed.
‘Agong’s decree does not prevent changes’
Asked if his coalition’s efforts to usurp Anwar’s government are going against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree for political stability, Hadi said the king’s words do not prevent changes in a democratic country. “According to the constitutional monarchy, the king is placed under the constitution. Our constitution still upholds democracy,” he emphasised.
Previously, Hadi shared his prediction during a dialogue organised by book publisher Yayasan Permata Ummah in Kuala Lumpur last night but was short on details. He did not specify whether the cause of the collapse would come from within or without the government.
His brazen prediction drew brickbats from various quarters, with several leaders urging him to focus on attending Parliament instead of sabotaging and upsetting the public. The Marang MP has a poor attendance record in Parliament.
Anwar also scoffed at the Islamist party leader’s prediction and said “it’s okay, let him plan and rant (mengigau)”. - mk
He doesnt attend Parliament. He spends half his time pining for the government to fall.He spends the other half obsessively putting down other races. All while drawing a fat cheque from us taxpayers.Paid for a job he can't do. Won't even turn up at the office.Says anything he wants, anytime he wants. No consequences. And the Law doesn't dare touch him.Life must be good being Hadi. - Travis Bickle
He feels like being threathened, and his personal wealths will be at stake when this gov conduct a thorough investigation on the source of wealths of his political partners. - Meow21
He knows PAS cannot on its own or any of its coalition partners cannot win power through election but forming a government through SDs. Then their PM will be reluctant to go through a confidence vote. - Pink Panther3559

Hadi has asked his people to challenge the royalties for a while now; e.g., the Bon Odori Festival where PAS openly challenged the power of Sultan of Selangor who is elected by Council of Rulers to be Chairman of National Council of Islamic Religious Affairs. A few days ago, he openly challenged Sultan of Trengganu for banning political speeches in places of worship. Now he is challenging Yang di-Pertuan Agong who has decreed for a stable government. After GE15 results, Hadi thinks he is now powerful enough to openly challenge the royalties himself. He is untouchable.- DoNotKnow
Kenapa lah lobais hijau ni semakin hari semakin menjadi-jadi dan semakin meroyan. Mula-mula dia hina Agong, kata Agong pengadil tak adil, alih tiang gol.
Pastu dia terang-terang nak buat kerja khianat jatuhkan kerajaan, walhal dalam titah Agong dalam Parlimen baru-baru ini menegur jelas kerana Langkah Sheraton lah negara jadi huru hara.
Terbaru Sultan Terengganu titah ahli politik tidak dibenarkan beri ceramah termasuklah jadi imam dan khatib, tapi dia tak peduli dia kata akan teruskan seperti biasa.
Masa ICERD bukan main kata nak pertahankan Raja-Raja Melayu. Ni apakah jadah nak undi lagi parti yang presidennya jelas menghina dan menderhaka kepada Agong dan Sultan? - Aman Muhammad
Awatlah lebai2 PAS Terengganu teruk sangat?
cheers.
