PAS man,Razman apologises to
PMX,over pro-LGBT claims...
Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria apologised to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Ipoh High Court for claiming during an election campaign last year that Anwar condoned LGBT practices. This was part of a settlement agreement between the two which Anwar’s lawyer SN Nair said his client had consented to as a goodwill gesture and to let the matter rest.
“When a man repents and seeks forgiveness in good faith, it takes a gracious leader to rise to the occasion, accept the apology, and withdraw the suit,” said Nair. He added that the settlement had vindicated Anwar.
The apology was part of a consent judgment to settle Anwar’s defamation suit against Razman (above) over the latter’s claim that Anwar said in a campaign speech he would promote an LGBT agenda, allow same-sex marriage, and support the communist agenda if he became prime minister.
“I would like to refer to my defamatory utterances in one of my speeches during the GE15 campaign which has offended your feelings and is defamatory of you.
“I wish to state that my utterances have impinged directly on your moral turpitude and good reputation and caused you considerable and immeasurable embarrassment, damage, and distress," said Razman in his apology. He also undertook never to repeat such claims in the future.
Letter of demand
Earlier, it was reported that Anwar issued a letter of demand to Razman seeking RM5 million in damages and a public apology over claims of the former having an LGBT agenda and being a DAP puppet.
The Gunong Semanggol assemblyperson allegedly made the claims during a walkabout at the Tebuk Pancur night market in Perak on Nov 6 last year.
The Tambun MP claimed that the allegations were made without the defendant seeking prior confirmation of their truthfulness and validity.
The plaintiff claimed, among others, that the allegation irreparably damaged his reputation and character as well as severely tarnished his social worthiness.
Anwar also alleged that Razman had wilfully ignored his letter of demand. - mk

Do you believe Perak PAS chief would apologise sincerely ? Most probably PAS won't learn and they will repeat their act of slandering and telling lies. - LineGuppy5931
These tok lebais will never learn, what will happen if another lebai repeats and defame the innocent party? Will you forgive and forget? Do not let them get away easy. To utter sorry I will not repeat is simply too easy to forgive and forget, come the next election the whole cycle of such utterances will be repeated. Just watch out. - Checkmate

Penang’s sovereignty:Rayer lodges
police report against Sanusi...
Jelutong MP RSN Rayer has lodged a police report against Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor today for questioning Penang’s sovereignty. Rayer described Sanusi’s actions to be “very extreme” when the latter disputed the sovereignty of the northern state, which has been established and recognised by the Federal Constitution.
“He is not only questioning the legitimacy of the Federal Constitution but also the powers of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in appointing the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang,” he told reporters outside the Penang North-East district police headquarters after lodging the police report.
“As a menteri besar, he should be responsible and seek views and advice from legal experts. “Sanusi should not criticise and give speeches (like this) at his whims as he could cause unrest among Penangites.” Rayer then urged Sanusi to retract his statement and apologise for his mistake. The DAP politician also urged the police to take action against the PAS leader following the report.
Rayer was referring to a TikTok video, where Sanusi had questioned the sovereignty of Penang by saying that the “state is leased from Kedah”.
In the short clip, Sanusi claimed that Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy had allegedly said that state governments do not have sovereignty. Instead, sovereignty belongs to the federal government.
“Each state that joined the Federation of Malaysia has its own sovereignty. “Kedah has sovereignty, we have our sultan. We have a government, laws and geographical borders.
“This is the entity that forms the sovereignty of the state of Kedah. “The only thing I doubt about sovereignty is Penang, because the state is leased from Kedah,” he claimed in the video.
In 2021, the PAS politician made similar allegations in the Kedah state assembly. Back then, The Vibes reported Sanusi telling the Kedah state assembly that he understood Penang’s concerns over several major projects announced by Kedah - which are thought to give Penang competition.
However, he said it should be remembered that “Penang was leased, and it should not interfere or criticise Kedah’s administrative matters.” - mk
MACC probing possible abuse of power
in contract for ex-PM’s son-in-law...
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating the award of a lucrative contract to the son-in-law of a former prime minister, a source has confirmed. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the anti-graft agency’s probe centred around possible abuse of power in connection with the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).
“MACC is looking at how the contract was given and the company’s links to those who were in power at the time,” the source said. New evidence related to the case has surfaced, including that the project was now classified as a “sick project” as very little progress has been made, the source added. “MACC may call in senior members of a previous administration as part of its probe.”
Muhyiddin’s son-in-law, Adlan Berhan, was named in media reports in 2020 as being linked and possibly a key player in the contract for the NIISe. Adlan was alleged to have links to one of the project’s frontrunners, security solutions provider S5 Holdings Inc, according to a report in The Vibes.
However, S5 group managing director Syed Mohammad Hafiz Jamalullail was reported by The Edge as saying in 2021 that none of his political connections, including Adlan, was involved in S5.
The system was reportedly mooted by Muhyiddin when he was the home minister in the 2018-2020 Pakatan Harapan government, after the Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional was cancelled by him because of high costs. Estimates put NIISe’s cost at about RM1.2 billion, about 66% less than the RM3.5 billion cost of the former project. - fmt
