As the trial of disgraced former prime minister Najib Razak continues, Malaysian authorities have intensified efforts to recover funds siphoned from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fund at the centre of the global corruption scandal. The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Friday said it had begun legal action to recover 270 million ringgit (US$65 million) in 1MDB funds disbursed to 41 individuals and entities from Najib’s personal bank account, which it described as “a clear trajectory” implicating the former prime minister. According to MACC chief Latheefa Koya, most of the recipients were branches of the former ruling party, the United Malays National Organisation (Umno), which Najib led until his shock election defeat in March 2018. “Money disbursed to various Umno divisions totalled 212 million [ringgit],” Latheefa told reporters, adding that 2 million ringgit had already been surrendered.
Najib stands accused of playing a key role in the 1MDB scandal and faces more than 40 charges of corruption.
Respondents named in the forfeiture suit include former minister Hasan Malek, Najib’s political counsel Bustari Yusof, a host of Umno divisions and leaders, and several corporate entities such as luxe jewel company Habib Jewels and leading textile retailer Jakel.
Latheefa said the government “wanted to be practical and get the money as soon as possible”, stipulating that under Malaysian law funds can be recovered without charging individuals.
“As far as the law is concerned with unlawful activity, as long as the person who received money did not take steps to find out where it came from, they are subject to the forfeiture process,” she said. “You can’t give the defence of being shocked or surprised.” Last month, a witness in Najib’s ongoing corruption trial told the court the embattled leader had seemed “shocked and upset” upon learning large sums of money had been transferred into his personal bank accounts. Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman, who oversaw 1MDB’s corporate social responsibility activities, told the court Najib said “somebody put the money in his accounts” and claimed to have no knowledge of the transactions.
As finance minister and prime minister, Najib oversaw 1MDB, which was 42 billion ringgit in debt. Najib has maintained his innocence, claiming the charges are politically motivated.
Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, and several other former high-ranking government officials have also been charged in connection to the 1MDB scandal. Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, Najib’s lawyer, has been charged with several counts of money-laundering and tax evasion. MACC said 919 million ringgit has been recovered from entities who “voluntarily released” the funds, either to cooperate with the authorities or to prevent further action being taken. The MACC is currently focusing on domestic recoveries, while a different agency handles offshore efforts. - scmp

Masa tersebar video membabitkan bekas setiausaha agung PAS, Tok,Hadi diam sahaja. Kitab mana yang Hadi baca dan hafal ketika itu.
Dan apakah Hadi lupa satu peristiwa di sebuah hotel di Petaling Jaya pada satu tengah malam? Saya tak nak sebut, Hadi mungkin mengingatinya. Dan kisah ini ramai tidak diketahui orang. Hari ini SPRM mendedahkan 41 nama individu dan juga badan badan tertentu yang dituduh telah menerima wang dari penyelewengan daripada 1MDB yang semuanya berjumlah RM270 juta. Nama individu dan badan disertakan itu jelas. Tidak ada satu nama pun membabitkan mereka adalah ahli parti agama Pam. Dengan pendedahan itu eloklah kalau ada pihak yang sebelum ini menuduh dan mengsyaki pemimpin Pam ada turut terbabit menerima wang itu, tidak lagi membangkitkannya.

Everyone knows that the current gay sex video implicating Azmin Ali was sparked off by the appointment of Latheefa Koya as the MACC chief commissioner. Anwar Ibrahim's team was feeling edgy over Latheefa's shock Raya eve appointment and decided to launch a counter-offensive. It was obvious as daylight that Latheefa was put in MACC to do the bidding for Azmin. Ever since, controversy surrounding Latheefa's appointment has been drowned out by the fallout from the gay sex video involving Haziq Aziz and another man said to be Minister Azmin Ali, although the latter had denied this. The last piece of news involving Latheefa was about her recusing herself from MACC's graft probe on Azmin. As Latheefa's role in the larger body politic fades from public spotlight at least for now, she's still pulling the strings insofar as the Anwar-Azmin political maneuvering is concerned. This is being done through her sister Zakiah Koya, a senior journalist in The Star. Zakiah has been instrumental in Camp Azmin's bid to steer the narratives involving the scandal. One of the first "exclusive" stories Zakiah reported on when the scandal broke was that Haziq never showed any tendencies of being gay. Read "Close friends are shocked, say Haziq was never gay". Quoting unnamed ex-school and university mates of Haziq, the piece was clearly put out as a counter-narrative to the idea that the jambu-looking Haziq had homosexual tendencies in the first place. This was despite a video of Haziq admitting to being in the sex tape and implicated Azmin.
Zakiah Koya
From then on, it was Ops Save Azmin for the Koya sisters using the media, particularly The Star. Zakiah wrote a litany of stories, mostly to back Azmin, whom everyone knew put Latheefa in MACC for reasons best known to himself. Zakiah also conducted a one-on-one video interview with PKR Sabah deputy Youth chief Blission Zainuddin where the latter said Haziq had to badger Blission for Azmin's whereabouts during the Sandakan by-election. This was to paint the picture that Haziq was not all that close to Azmin, as claimed, much less had a sexual relationship with him. On Tuesday (18 June), Zakiah wrote an exclusive front page report, "All abuzz over missing PKR man" which insinuated that the mastermind of the black ops had not been publicly seen since the video surfaced. She all but named Anwar's political secretary, Farhash Wafa Salvador, the said individual. Again, Zakiah quoted unnamed "sources" for the story. From fire-fighting mode since the scandal first broke, the Koya sisters were now on counter-offensive as they try to finger Anwar's involvement in the grand conspiracy. As it turned out, Farhash had gone on record to say he was never overseas during the period, which laid to rest any speculations arising from the report. Anwar had also since distanced himself from Farhash. Camp Azmin has a cache of very potent weapons in key institutions to help save himself from the political battle of his life. Azmin Gay Sex Scandal Shows Why Malays Will Split And Can Never Be United...
Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia’s first prime minister popularly known as the “Father of Independence”, was perhaps the only clean and honest premier the country had ever produced. Tunku is still widely regarded, even by his critics, as the true leader in the multiracial and multi-religious country. Still, he was brought down by enemy using gutter politics.
Due to greed for power, his deputy – Abdul Razak Hussein – had carefully pre-planned and orchestrated the May 13, 1969 bloody racial riots together with former Selangor chief minister Harun Idris. The plot was to oust Tunku who was none too keen on Razak and his cohorts’ new Malay agenda. Some believed it was karma when Razak died of leukaemia on Jan 14, 1976, at the age of 53.
After the 1969 riots, Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition was formed in 1973 as a replacement of the Alliance Party. Opposition parties such as Gerakan, PPP, and PAS were invited to join the new coalition. With a combined period of rule from 1957 to 2018, the Alliance and its successor Barisan were considered as the longest ruling coalition party in the democratic world.
However, the “dirty and gutter politics” did not end after Razak backstabbed and betrayed Tunku after the 1969 riots. At its peak, the Barisan Nasional (National Front) coalition consisted of 14 component political parties. Yet, the so-called Malay unity did not last very long. In 1977, PAS was kicked out from BN following a revolt within the Kelantan state over the appointment of chief minister.
Interestingly, PAS was itself a splinter group of UMNO (the dominant party of BN). The religious group was founded in 1951 by some Muslim clerics, who shifted the party’s ideology away from Malay nationalism towards a more focus on Islamic teachings. But even within PAS, the party has always been divided into two factions – the extremist and progressive groups.
the Alliance Party
Ten years after PAS was booted from the federal government, UMNO, the supposedly representative or guardian of ethnic Malay, exploded into crisis again. Under the leadership of Mahathir Mohamad, a man whom Tunku Abdul Rahman labelled as one of extremists responsible for the 1969 racial riots, UMNO was split into Team-A and Team-B.
In 1987, Tengku Razaleigh’s “Team B” faction challenged Mahathir’s “Team A” faction for control of UMNO. Ultimately, Mahathir won the party election with a slim 41-vote majority. He quickly removed all Team B members from the cabinet. Mr. Razaleigh claimed many party delegates were improperly elected, hence sued to overturn the results – leading to UMNO being declared “illegal” in 1988.
As a result of internal power struggle, Razaleigh formed “Semangat 46” while Mahathir created “UMNO Baru”. Had Najib Razak, then UMNO Youth Chief and a protege of Razaleigh, did not betray his mentor by swinging his votes for Mahathir at the eleventh hour, Mahathir would have ruled for just 6 years instead of 22 years from 1981 to 2003.
Anwar Ibrahim, co-founder of the Muslim Youth Movement (ABIM), was once an Islamist extremist. He too couldn’t resist the temptation of power and wealth when then-PM Mahathir easily lured him to join UMNO in 1982. It was part of the strategy to “keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer.” Anwar’s meteoric rise was rudely disrupted in 1998.
Already the deputy prime minister and finance minister, Anwar challenged his boss Mahathir over how to handle the Malaysia’s economy, which was under pressure amid the 1997-98 Asian Financial Crisis. Anwar was also not in favour of the Petronas bailout of now-defunct Konsortium Perkapalan Bhd, which belongs to Mahathir’s eldest son, Mirzan Mahathir.
Friend Turn Foe Turn Friend
Mahathir then sacked his deputy over allegations that he was involved in corruption and “unnatural sex” – sodomy. So, dirty and gutter politics were all over the place – again – when UMNO-Malay politicians fought for power and wealth. Even until today, Mahathir has never apologised to his former deputy Anwar Ibrahim, who was sacked and jailed for corrupt practices and sodomy in 1998.
The sacking and jailing of Anwar would give birth to the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat or People’s Justice Party) in 1998, further splitting Malays. Ten years later, amazingly, Anwar was again accused of sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, at a Desa Damansara condominium unit in Bukit Damansara between 3.10 pm and 4.30 pm on June 26, 2008.
In the same year of 2008, Mahathir’s own handpicked successor – Abdullah Ahmad Badawi – was targeted because not only the prime minister was sleeping on the job most of the time, the country was on auto-pilot as it was discovered that Badawi’s son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin, known as the “fourth floor boys”, were the one who ran the government.
Najib Razak, the son of second PM Abdul Razak, was crowned as the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia after he pressured Badawi to resign in 2009. But it was soon discovered that Najib was worse than Badawi. Not only Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, was the de-facto prime minister, the husband-wife tag-team happily stole money from the national coffers to the tune of billions of dollars.
Incredibly, the families of Najib did not find anything wrong despite the world mocking the country as a kleptocracy government. Even after Najib and Rosmah were slapped with dozens of charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT), money laundering and abuse of power, they insist that there is “nothing to be ashamed of”, as can be seen in the “Malu Apa Bossku (Why The Shame, Boss)” campaign.
PKR Supporters
Now, after taking over the government, the PKR party is hit with gay sex scandal when Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali, the blue-eyed boy of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, is being accused of having “unnatural sex” with another man. Already divided into two factions of Anwar and Azmin, the latest homosexual video clip will potentially split the PKR party.
Regardless whether the mastermind is Mahathir, Anwar or UMNO (now the opposition), the gay sex scandal is a classic example of how the Malays would go the extra miles of using dirty or gutter politics to gain power, wealth and like it or not, extraordinary sex. And the split among the Malays, mostly possessed UMNO DNA, does not confine to PKR only.
Even within Mahathir’s own PPBM (Bersatu) party, there appears to be factions. Likewise, the once invincible UMNO party is split into multiple factions. Heck, even prime minister wannabe Ibrahim Ali has set up a new party, Putra, as an alternative for Malays. In reality, the ethnic Malay will forever split and can never be united for obvious reason.
Politics, no matter how dirty, is the main staple of Malays. They live, eat and sleep politics. Politics is to the Malays what business is to the Chinese. But unlike in the business world, where one can complement each other, the same cannot be said about Malay politics. PPBM, PKR, Amanah, UMNO, PAS and whatnot are fighting for the same market share, hence cannibalizing each other.
Because the Malays mostly suck in business, their express ticket to instant wealth and power is politics. But if you think using one’s private sex activities behind closed doors is dirty, wait until you hear how some fake Muslim holy men declare “lies” as “Shariah-compliant” so that they could continue hoodwinking their Muslim followers. - FT

Maka, kalau Naib Ketua AMK, Nazree Yunus dan Zuraida kata Haziq patut dipecat kerana melakukan perbuatan liwat yang beliau sendiri mengaku, kita mahu bertanya Haziq melakukannya dengan siapa?Meliwat seorang diri? Dengan Azmin? Bukankah Azmin menafikannya? Kalau Haziq dipecat kerana mengaku dirinya terlibat di dalam video tersebut, kita kena juga siasat siapa pasangannya sebelum kita mahu hukum Haziq.
Kalau kita percaya pengakuan Haziq itu bulat-bulat, ertinya kita percaya Azmin adalah pasangannya. Ini tidak adil buat Azmin. As PKR faces a potential fallout due to a sex scandal, a lawmaker has now exposed a manuscript for a book which details reasons why its president Anwar Ibrahim should not become the prime minister. Johari Abdul also pointed to Chapter 15 of the book, "Mengapa Anwar tak boleh jadi PM (Why Anwar cannot be PM)", which he said promoted another leader whom the author felt was more qualified for the post. Although he did not mention the name of the leader, the title for Chapter 15 reads “Azmin Ali Bakal PM (Azmin Ali next prime minister).” Johari Abdul, who exposed a manuscript for a book which describes Anwar Ibrahim as unfit to be the prime minister, claims the author is now negotiating for a higher price than what he was offered for the book. According to the Sungai Petani MP, the author had contacted him, saying he wanted to meet with the PKR president. “He informed me that he has completed the book and someone has offered him RM400,000 for it. “If Anwar ups the price, he is willing to give the book to Anwar. Otherwise, he will give it to the person willing to publish the book,” he added.
Johari (above) was speaking to reporters after the PKR political bureau meeting at the party headquarters in Petaling Jaya this evening. When asked to comment on the issue later, Anwar told reporters - "It is time for the public to know who this cheap writer is who has been paid. He tried to blackmail us to pay him RM400,000." "Let the police investigate." At an earlier press conference, Johari identified the author as one Yahaya Ismail and described the manuscript - titled Mengapa Anwar Tidak Boleh Jadi PM (Why Anwar cannot be PM) - as replete with slander and lies. He also pointed to Chapter 15 of the book, which portrayed Anwar's deputy Azmin Ali as a better candidate for the prime minister post. Meanwhile, Johari said there is an element of extortion with regard to the author demanding a higher price. “But by contacting me, he picked the wrong person. “This is a question of pride. It is a crime when you threaten people so that the book is not published. “The 16 chapters are laden with slander. It is his right to promote someone to be prime minister. But when he attempts to extort, he crossed the line. I cannot compromise on this,” he added. Johari said he would surrender the manuscript, which he received on June 10, when he lodges a police report on the matter later. - mk
Zuraida 'bunuh' Azmin...
Sebagaimana dilaporkan media, Naib Presiden PKR, Zuraidah Kamaruddin akan mencadangkan agar Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz dipecat daripada parti. Cadangan itu akan dikemukakannya dalam mesyuarat Biro Politik PKR, petang ini. “Ya (saya akan desak parti pecat Haziq). “Sepatutnya, tindakan pecat harus dikenakan kepada anggota terlibat kerana ia memalukan parti, mencemarkan parti dan juga mencemarkan kepimpinan parti,” kata beliau yang juga Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan. Kata Zuraidah, perlakuan seks luar tabii sepertimana yang diakui oleh Haziq adalah jenayah dalam negara. Apakah tujuan Zuraidah mahu Haziq dipecat? Sebagaimana yang ditekankan dalam blog ini semalam, tidakkah Zuraidah sedar bahawa perlakuan seks yang diakui Haziq adalah melibatkan hubungan dua pihak? Sementara Haziq mengakui seks luar tabiinya, beliau juga mengakui pasangannya dalam video yang tersebar luas itu ialah Azmin Ali. Tidak salah parti jika PKR mahu memecat Haziq berdasarkan pengakuannya itu.
Tetapi, jika pengakuan melakukan seks luar tabii yang dibuat Haziq mahu diterima sebagai fakta yang benar dan ingin dijadikan asas memecatnya, bagaimana pula dengan pengakuannya bahawa Azmin adalah pasangannya? Tidakkah kedua-dua pengakuan itu keluar daripada mulut Haziq pada waktu yang sama? Dengan itu, adilkah jika Haziq saja yang dicadangkan dipecat, tetapi pasangannya tidak diambil apa-apa tindakan? Kenapa dalam hal ini Zuraidah tidak mahu menunggu hasil siasatan polis selesai berhubung ketulenan video dan pelaku dalam video tersebut sebelum mencadangkan pemecatan Haziq? Atau Zuraidah sebenarnya mahu “membunuh” karier Azmin dengan lebih cepat lagi? Kenapa pula nak kena pecat sedangkan pihak berkuasa masih menjalankan siasatan melibatkan 21 laporan polis. Lagipun kementerian Shamsul pun belum buat keputusan selepas Haziq serah surat tunjuk sebab pada hari dia ditangkap di KLIA2 Jumaat lepas. Inilah payahnya bila menteri bebal undang-undang seperti mana yang dibuktikan dalam kes Syazlin Mansor! At best, Azmin Ali is a bisexual. At worst, he’s a homosexual. Either way, his extraordinary sexual preference is unacceptable to the conservative Malays in the country. And that alone means his political career will surely take a massive hit. He can forget about becoming the next prime minister, if that was indeed his ambition from the beginning.
After the explosive revelation of a sex video clip, people have been putting their creative and investigative skills to work in speculating the real mastermind behind the incredibly bold admission of Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz – that he was the man indulged in the gay sex with none other than Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali, the blue-eyed boy of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
Those who believe the sex video was an inside job have argued that the PM-in-waiting Anwar Ibrahim is definitely the mastermind. It’s no brainer to point Anwar as the culprit due to his rivalry with Azmin, his once loyal minion. In the same breath, Anwar is the stupidest man on the planet, if indeed he masterminded the sex video and thought he could get away with it.
The only reason Anwar would go to the extent of killing off the political career of Azmin, hence infuriating Mahathir, is when the prime minister pissed off the PM-in-waiting with truckloads of bullshit excuses and refused to set a tentative timetable to hand over the premiership, despite rounds of talks behind closed doors. But so far, there have been no hints of such arguments.
However, it’s also true that nobody could or dare pulling such a stunt except Mahathir himself. After all, this is the same man who started (even created) the homosexual phenomenon back in 1998 when he accused his deputy – Anwar Ibrahim – of sodomy. With Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador now behind him, Mahathir has all the resources to bring down Azmin.
Sex Video Scandal
Just because Mahathir condemned the sex video as fake, despite the fact that his premature declaration would invite criticism of a possible cover-up by the police, did not mean the premier meant what he said. After all, this is the same old man who had thrown his support behind his deputy 20 years ago only to make a U-turn and sacked him anyway days later.
True, Mahathir deliberately appointed Azmin Ali as the powerful Economic Affairs Minister as part of his “divide and rule” strategy to check on Anwar, whose party – PKR – won the most parliamentary seats after last May general election . But that did not mean the prime minister treated Azmin like a prophet who must be crowned as the next prime minister.
So far, Azmin’s performance as the economic affairs minister has been pathetic. It appears he has done nothing to boost the country’s economy except screwing around in posh hotels. His accuser, Haziq, was arrested on Friday (June 14) at the KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) en route to Manila. But he was later released on police bail and is allowed to leave the country if he desires.
Kevin Nguyen, a digital forensics expert from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, reportedly had analysed the sex videos implicating Azmin Ali but did not find the clips to be digitally modified – suggesting that the videos could be genuine after all, although the experts could not confirm if Azmin was the superstar featured in the video.
The biggest hint that Mahathir wasn’t as gullible as some may think is when Rais Hussin, a supreme council member of the PM’s own party, took offence of Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s idiotic defence of Azmin Ali. Mr. Rais, also the strategist of PPBM party, exposed that Azmin did not actually support Mahathir as the PM before the 14th general election.
Yes, both Anwar Ibrahim and Mahathir Mohamad have their own reasons to finish off Azmin Ali’s political career. At best, Azmin’s meteoric rise must be stopped, at least temporarily. At worst, Azmin cannot be trusted. Azmin is an opportunistic who would sell his wife for the right price, not to mention a double agent and a snake oil salesman who has no problem sleeping with anyone.
As early as 2014, when PAS Islamist Party endorsed Azmin Ali as the state of Selangor’s Chief Minister, despite everyone wanted Anwar’s wife, Wan Azizah, to become the chief minister in the controversial “Kajang Move” political manoeuvre, it has been established that Mr. Azmin would be forever grateful to the extreme Islamist party for their support.

Perhaps that was the message Rais Hussin tries to send across when he tweeted that Azmin wanted now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat more than Pakatan Harapan. PAS was part of Pakatan Rakyat until its president, Hadi Awang, was bribed RM90 million by ex-PM Najib Razak to leave the coalition in order to split the opposition parties.
Apparently, Azmin was also very close with Hishammuddin Hussein, the cousin of former PM Najib Razak. Eyebrows were raised when Ameer Azmin, eldest son of Azmin Ali, posted a photo of the families of Azmin and Hishammuddin holidaying in Morocco last year. After the photo – with the caption “reunited after so long” – went viral in the social media, it was taken down.
It doesn’t matter whether the mastermind behind the disgusting gay sex video was Anwar Ibrahim, Mahathir Mohamad or someone from UMNO. The most important question is whether the video is real or fake. If the video is real, which seems like the case so far, it won’t matter even if Anwar is found to be indirectly involved in the so-called gutter politicking.
Mahathir would be seen as a hypocrite for protecting “Azmin the Gay”, when the premier had proudly rejected gays and lesbians when he declared that Malaysia will not recognise LGBT culture or same-sex marriage in the country as it does not subscribe to “Western values”. The elder statesman will also have difficulties explaining his support for Azmin now, but not Anwar in 1998.
In 1998, Anwar Ibrahim was given a 9-year prison sentence when he was accused of engaging in homosexual acts, despite claims of police brutality and witness torture. Today, Haziq voluntarily admits of being the man engaged in homosexual acts with Azmin Ali – together with video clips to prove their happy moments at Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Sandakan, Sabah.
Azmin Ali can put up a brave face for all he wants. But his reputation and integrity have taken a plunge. Azmin’s case is different from Anwar’s. Anwar’s sodomy allegations, first in 1998 and then in 2008, were seen as a poorly scripted political assassination due to lack of strong evidence. Azmin’s gay sex allegation comes with the “unnatural sex” video clips as proof.

Even if the police subsequently announce that the sex video clip is real, but the man was not Azmin Ali, how many would believe it? It would make people believe more that Mahathir ordered the police to cover-up because Azmin is the blue-eyed boy of the prime minister. People would believe that the man who screwed Haziq (and vice-versa) in the homosexual acts was Azmin.
Like it or not, Azmin Ali has lost the perception war when he refused to sue Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz from the moment the latter exposed that both individuals were not only took turns bonking each other in a hotel room, but also the accusation that the Economic Affairs Minister was a bloody corrupt minister. And Azmin has nobody but himself to blame.
Mr. Azmin had gotten big-headed and incredibly arrogant upon his promotion as the economic affairs minister. He thought that under Mahathir’s protection, he was invincible hence burning his bridge with Anwar. Not only did he disrespect Anwar as the PM-in-waiting and his former boss, Azmin had also insulted the family members of Anwar.
In March, Anwar’s daughter, Nurul Izzah, expressed that it wasn’t easy working with an ex-dictator (Mahathir) who was the source of so much damage in the past. Azmin, sucking up to his new boss Mahathir, said – “This country needs doers who are prepared to tough it out all the way, not cry babies. Whatever it takes, we must make it work. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.”
Perhaps karma comes early for Azmin. Despite the gutter politics in the country, Azmin will be judged whether he can take the heat as a result of the sex scandal, or get out of the kitchen like a cry baby – moaning, whining and bitching after caught having sex with another man. Had he kept a low profile and be humble and stop counting the chickens before they hatch, he would not be where he is today. - FT

Isu video lucah Haziq orang melihat ia seakan tidak mengapa-apakan Dr Mahathir. Orang lihat Mahathir rileks sahaja dan ia sudah membuat kerjanya apabila mengatakan video berkenaan palsu? Tetapi hakikatnya tidak begitu. Saya tetap yakin sebagai PM dia sudah mendapat maklumat awal daripada orang lain. Sebelum video itu tersebar, tentu dia sudah tahu dan mengenali seorang demi seorang peribadi, kegiatan dan fiil para menterinya. Tidak terkecuali. PH tidak ada sistem atau kaedah khususnya untuk mengenali perwatakan dan peribadi seseorang untuk dilantik jadi menteri. Kalau ada pun hanya semakan dari segi integriti kekayaan dan hal-hal lain, seperti mana dimaklumkan oleh Sprm tetapi tidak hal dalam kain. Namun bagi Dr Mahathir dia mempunyai kayu ukurnya sendiri untuk membuat penilaian kepada semua jemaah kabinetnya. Dalam hal ini beliau pasti sudah mendapat apa-apa maklumat baik secara langsung atau tidak. Tunggu lagi beliau sedang memantau dari masa ke semasa sahaja.
Mengenai video lucah itu saya yakin beliau sudah ada maklumat mengenainya. Dan perkembangan hari ini mengenai video itu telah meletakkan beliau dalam keadaan terjempit dan serba salah. Bukan sahaja Azmin, atau Anwar ataupun Haziq, Dr Mahathir juga sedang dilanda kebuntuan. Tentu sejarah lampaunya menghantui pemikirannya. Pengalaman lalu amat menjadikan dia serba salah. Dalam kes membabitkan Anwar tahun 1998 lalu beliau telah bertindak memecat Anwar kerana fitnah sebelum fitnah itu dibuktikan dimahkamah. Apakah dalam kes Azmin ini “difitnah” kali ini menyebabkan Mahathir mengambil sikap berbeza. Jika ikut kepada cara tindakannya sebelum ini, dia juga perlu menggugurkan Azmin dari kabinet walaupun belum disahkan mengenai ketulenan video itu seperti mana dilakukan kepada Anwar dahulu. Jika Mahathir mengubah sikapnya, tidak melakukan apa-apa ke atas Azmin jelas beliau sudah bertindak double standard. Dah perubahan ini mengesahkan bahawa Mahathir seorang Melayu tulen yang bersifat mudah lupa. Tegasnya kondisi video lucah Haziq kini menjadi cabaran besar kepada Mahathir bukan sahaja kepada kepimpinannya tetapi kepada maruahnya sebagai seorang pemimpin. Setelah digemparkan dengan penyebaran empat video lucah Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz yang dikaitkan dengan lelaki mirip Menteri Hal Ehwal Ekonomi, Mohamed Azmin Ali, hari ini tersebar satu lagi klip perbualan pula. Klip berdurasi 47 saat yang dipetik dari YouTube itu rata-rata berkisar tentang perbualan dua pihak mengaturkan pertemuan. Pada awal perbualan, lelaki dipercayai Haziq bertanya kepada pasangannya bila mereka boleh bertemu. “Bila you free?,” kata individu yang dipercayai Haziq. “Now (sekarang) I free dalam dua jam. I boleh turun sekejap. Kalau you lalu kat lobi tu nanti mereka (tidak pasti siapa) nampakkan,” kata lelaki yang didakwa pasangan Haziq. “Dekat lobi ke macam mana?,” tanya Haziq lagi. “Biar I turun dulu, tunggu I turun,” jelas lelaki berkenaan. Video itu disebarkan tatkala Mohamed Azmin mengadakan sidang media di Majlis Perjanjian Persefahaman antara Konsortium PCB-MGB dan Must Ehsan Development Sdn Bhd bagi pembangunan Rumah Idaman Rakyat Selangor di Shah Alam hari ini. Menurut individu yang dipercayai memuatnaik video berkenaan, Rahim Jaafar, perbualan itu dirakam pada Mac lalu ketika lelaki yang didakwa mirip Mohamed Azmin menjadi Menteri Pengiring kepada Sultan Brunei. Dr.Mahathir blasts Britain over palm oil hypocrisy...
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has defended the palm oil industry, accusing Western countries of double standards on the environment. European competitors had “invented” the idea that the palm oil industry adversely affected the ecosystem, Mahathir, 93, told the Cambridge Union in Britain on Sunday. He said biofuel competitors from Europe and elsewhere had made up the claims out of jealousy because palm oil was the cheapest and most versatile edible vegetable oil. In a speech marked with humour and wit, Mahathir took aim at “hypocritical” European countries, including Britain, who had “cleared” so much forest there were now “no wild animals” left. “When you start talking about the environment and clearing forests, look at Britain for example. Where are your wood forests? Are they still there? Is Robin Hood still operating from there?” he said, prompting much laughter and applause. He defended the industry as vital to the livelihoods of many Malaysians, saying it enabled them to “compete with the rest of the world”.
Malaysia is the world’s second largest palm oil producer after Indonesia and the industry plays a vital role in alleviating poverty. In 2017, it accounted for 3.8 per cent of GDP and in 2018 Malaysia sold US$1.2 billion worth of palm oil and palm-oil based products to China alone. A plan by the European Union to restrict the use of palm oil in biofuels ahead of an eventual ban in 2030 has caused uproar in both Malaysia and Indonesia. Western campaigners blame the palm oil industry for deforestation, but Malaysia has claimed previously that the move is motivated by trade protectionism.
During his talk in Cambridge, Mahathir also highlighted how Malaysia had shifted its focus from the West to the East, saying countries such as Japan and Korea were “doing better” than some European countries. He also voiced concern over the marginalisation of smaller countries by more powerful ones and accused the UN of not being democratic enough. “In order to give everybody a fair hearing, you should have a round table where everyone sits, each one having only one vote. Just like in elections we don’t give more votes to rich or educated people,” he said. - scmp

Pertubuhan media Australia, SBS News, telah meminta pandangan beberapa pakar mengenai klip seks yang didakwa melibatkan Menteri Hal Ehwal Ekonomi Azmin Ali. Laporan itu menyatakan bahawa walaupun tidak dapat mengesahkan jika orang dalam video tersebut ialah Azmin, namun para pakar bersetuju bahawa kelihatan tidak ada sebarang pengubahan digital telah dibuat. "Sekiranya ini (hasil kepintaran buatan AI) Deepfake, ia sangat baik," kata salah seorang daripada mereka, Kevin Nguyen. Menurut SBS, Nguyen ialah pakar forensik digital yang sebelum ini berunding dan menyediakan pengesahan kandungan untuk BBC dan New York Times serta kini bekerja untuk Perbadanan Penyiaran Australia (ABC). Berikutan analisisnya terhadap ketiga-tiga klip itu, Nguyen berkata: "Pada tahap imej, secara forensik ia telah diperiksa. "Saya menjalankan beberapa analisis forensik... terhadap tiga video itu dan pada enam perkara yang saya periksa tiada bukti terdapat manipulasi foto atau imej," jelasnya.
Profesor Siwei Lyu dari Kolej Kejuruteraan dan Sains Gunaan di University of Albany di Amerika Syarikat juga memberikan gambaran yang sama. "Dengan menghalang artifak mampatan (compression artifacts), tidak ada jejak algoritma (AI) deepfake yang pasti, seperti orientasi muka yang tidak konsisten, atau wajah yang terapung" katanya. SBS, yang merupakan organisasi berita yang dibiayai oleh kerajaan, memetik Siwei sebagai pakar dalam bidang kepintaran buatan dan forensik media. Walau bagaimanapun, pakar lain yang dipetik SBS, Giorgio Patrini, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif syarikat Deeptrace dari Australia, berkata kualiti video itu terlalu rendah untuk membolehkan mendapat suatu analisis muktamad. Firma Patrini mengendalikan pengesahan video yang diubah dengan teknologi Deepfake.
"Tiada seorang pun daripada penganalisis yang boleh mengesahkan bahawa Azmin ialah lelaki dalam video itu, mereka hanya membuat kesimpulan bahawa video itu tidak pernah diubah secara digital," kata laporan itu lagi. Sementara itu, pakar lain, Denby Weller dari Universiti Teknologi Sydney, berkata terdapat beberapa tertentu yang perlu diberikan perhatian. "Dengan melihat (imej itu, boleh dikatakan) ia telah dirakam dengan mod potret dari telefon walaupun rupa itu boleh dibuat secara buatan pada tahap pasca produksi. "Ia juga ditembak dari kedudukan yang sedikit tinggi (ketinggian kamera sangat sukar untuk dipalsukan), yang menunjukkan bahawa telefon itu mengarah sedikit ke bawah pada lelaki terbabit," katanya.
