PH Plus has 107 seats on its side...
"Pakatan Harapan Plus" has a total of 107 parliament seats in its hands, says PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim today. The opposition chief revealed this during a Facebook Live session this afternoon, where he touched on yesterday's meeting between Harapan component party leaders and their allies, namely the Bersatu faction loyal to former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Warisan under Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal.
"We got together and reached an agreement. (That) whatever strategy we use, we must stay together. The opposition must stand firm on its principles. "Now we have 107 (seats) in this group (Harapan Plus), and we will move forward as a team to ensure that the people's mandate is respected, and all the 'kebobrokan' (damages), chaos, and corruption are put to a stop," he said.
Anwar was referring to Harapan Plus' meeting yesterday at PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya, where its top party leaders including Mahathir, Shafie, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu were present. It was reported that the meeting was held to discuss, among others, the coalition's candidate for prime minister if they manage to retake Putrajaya from Perikatan Nasional.
In February, the then Harapan federal government was toppled when it supposedly lost the majority in Parliament after a number of its MPs crossed over to form the Perikatan Nasional coalition with opposition parties. These include top leaders from its Bersatu component party and PKR leaders who defected to join Bersatu in forming PN.
However, the past two weeks had seen rumours spreading that Harapan and its allies have supposedly garnered support from more MPs including those in the government. They are said to have enough numbers to regain control of Putrajaya.
Malaysia has a total of 222 parliamentary seats, and its first-past-the-post system requires any political entity to have a simple majority of at least 112 MPs to form a government. Anwar also criticised politicians who are willing to be bought with position and wealth. He described such politicians as those who are willing to trade themselves off.
"They do not stand true to their principles. Whoever has some debt, or promised a minister position or to head a government-linked company (GLC), then they are willing to change their direction. "How low," he said. The PN government is doing this because they are weak, Anwar added. - mk
I like when Anwar said that Pakatan Harapan has 107 MPs support in Parliament It is more realistic. No need the rush to chase the numbers from 107, 111, 115 or 129 and so on... What is more important is the cooperation of the Tun Mahathir,Warisan and PH groups of parties. No need to feel bad and no need to question who is worthy of being a PM... - f/bk
Kudos to Dr.Maslee Malik...
100 hari:Dahkah kabinet Din isytihar harta...
cheers.
